What has encouraged me most to undertake such a tedious,risky but rewarding challenge is the growing and passionnate enthusiasm these interactive lessons and exercises have fired students with.
Second, I have come to the conclusion that using web based materials in the classroom or assigning URLs for extensive reading or research may be of no avail as students will plunge into a sea of materials that they can't often tackle .What is worse,there are many unreliable,biased and corrupt links which rubbish and muddy the water on global issues.The most striking and vivid example is that of www.globalwarming.org,which is promoted by Cooler Heads Coalition and updated by the Competitive Entreprises Institute.This website defends unquestionably the interests of the carbon fuel industries;thus,it propagates incorrect proofs and arguments.So, the main aim behind the creation of this website is essentially to provide students with an oriented "self-help" learning resource to complement the ministry textbooks and to enable them to benefit from the full pedagogical powers of the audio-visual media and the other tools created by the java applets and flash applications such as interactive examples,animation,video,narrative and written texts,games,interviews,films,songs... that have tremendously positive impacts on the learning process; but which are,unfortunetly, still being treated more as an icing-on-the-cake than as something at the very heart of learning !
Moreover, this website will provide shy or reluctant students with golden opportunities to learn at their ease as learning here is nonjudgmental and self-paced.
What is more important is that this website will be an open space for all English teachers who want to participate in the development and continuity of Your Bac_English,its enrichment and refinement.
New Experience
It is a new experience for us that is worth undergoing despite the objective and subjective constraints; yet it will work if we work on it.
